After my previous project (Parent Portal Mobile) was such a success, they decided to give me a bigger project. This next project was to design and build an application that would allow school districts to post job vacancies, and allow applicants to search for and apply for jobs, post their resumes, and get alerted if future jobs were posted matching their interests or talents.

The application had many administrative functions as well, including:

• Job Approval Workflow
• Applicant Rating System
• Automated References Collection
• Customizable Applications
• Robust API for integration into 3rd Party HR systems

I managed a small team of developers and collaborated with managers and other stakeholders from across the state to gather requirements. As I always do, I brought sincere customer empathy to the design process.

The end product exceeded everyone's expectations. Of particular note was that I was able to introduce Response Design to the organization (a technique for designing a page to display well on any size screen).

After the success of this project I was promoted to a Software Development Manager.
